This is from John Ruskey, Quapaw Canoe Company, Helena Outpost:

Helena, please join us in giving Brett Rogers & the Old Man River Project a Deep South welcome to town!  From Canada and Australia in partnership with the Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper.  Brett and his crew of five will be working on their 32 foot authentic York Boat ANNIE and resupplying for the final push in their 4-month expedition down the Mississippi from our Canoe & Kayak headquarters at 411 Ohio Street.  The beautiful ANNIE will be stationed on location until push-off from the Helena Boat Launch Wednesday or Thursday.

Life and the River

If you leave the pool you have dug for yourself and go out into the river of life, then life has an astonishing way of taking care of you, because then there is no taking care on your part.

Quote of the trip

I thought you would like to hear this. It was posted on our blog when we departed an speaks to those who understand what we arew doing.

See ya down river.
BR

I am the old guy with Sammy my dog  and with my wife and a missing left leg and sttting on a electric cart.  As you all departed a man next to me said  “arn’t you glad you are here instead of on that boat?” my response was simply that I would give anything to be with you all on that boat.

You all have the wright idea.. LIVE AND LOVE.
